Welcome

Braintree Golf Club was founded in 1891 making it one of the earliest in the country and the third oldest in Essex. Our par 70 parkland course featuring tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens is considered to be one of the best in the county by amateurs and professionals alike. Our members play the course throughout the year and to maximize their enjoyment we try to play from our grass tees and use our main greens all year round.

We are a members club and that means that the club is managed by volunteer members for the members. Any surplus of income from our operations is retained by the club for its development and with the aim of keeping members’ annual subscriptions to a minimum.

Visitors are always welcome during the week and we are a popular venue for societies throughout the summer and winter months, however, we do keep weekends for our members and for that reason we do not cater for weddings or other functions during the summer months. The clubhouse provides excellent facilities including a professional golf shop and bar and restaurant facilities that are open throughout the day.
