Our par 70 parkland course features tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens, and is widely considered to be one of the finest in the county by amateurs and professionals alike, and currently enjoys 9th place in the top 100 golf courses in Essex.
The course is playable throughout the year, with full tees and greens in operation at all times. Indeed last winter 2013/14 we closed the course on just three days, and this winter 2014/15 we have yet to lose a single day!
Originally established in 1891 we are proud to be one of the oldest clubs in Essex, but also one of the most modern.
As a private members club we are proud of our heritage, whilst looking equally to the future to provide an excellent golf course and facilities to our members. But at the same time we recognise the value of visiting players and societies alike, and whilst much of the time members have full access to the course, visitors and societies are made very welcome on weekdays throughout the year.
Our excellent practice facilities include a 500 yard long game practice area, 200 yard practice fairway, short game area with covered bays, chipping green and 18 hole putting green, and just recently our brand new purpose built practice nets.

Away from the course we have a beautiful modern clubhouse, with excellent facilities including the main restaurant, two bars, a function room and panoramic views over the golf course from the patio.

We are truly indebted to
Daniel Robinson Funeral Directors who recently donated a life-saving defibrillator to the club which has been mounted just inside the main entrance. This vital piece of equipment offers the very latest technology available, and is designed to be used by the untrained person as it talks the user through the process.
