The Golf Course has benefited enormously from the settled weather we have experienced recently.  The Course is drying out and is in excellent condition for the time of year. There is still a Buggy ban until further notice.  

Members and their guests are reminded that when a group of players are putting out that the pin should either be removed or left in the hole. The pin should not be attended due to the adverse wear created close to the hole by footprints. (This request does not apply to Club Competitions and is for Winter golf only) 

There is also a new memorial tree which has been planted in remembrance of Colin Taylor on the elbow of the 5th fairway.

We aim to play main greens all year round and main tees as much as possible thoughout winter months.

Preferred Lies commenced 1st November 2009

Work on the 16th hole greenside bunkers will continue to end of month. The bunkers will be designated "ground under repair" until work is completed and sand is compacted.

The golf course

Our par 70 parkland course featuring tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens is considered to be one of the best in the county by amateurs and professionals alike. Inward holes run along side of the river Blackwater.

Visitors are always welcome during the week and we are a popular venue for societies throughout the summer and winter months, however, we do keep weekends for our members and for that reason we do not cater for weddings or other functions during the summer months. Visitors section »

GolfMark is an accreditation awarded to golf clubs who demonstrate a commitment to integrating juniors into their club, and who demonstrate high standards of policies and procedures to safeguard and protect children.
