A Very Warm Welcome to Braintree Golf Club
Braintree Golf Club was originally established in 1891 and is one of the oldest golf clubs in Essex. The club is now located in Stisted on the outskirts of Braintree in North Essex. As a private members club we are proud of our heritage, whilst always looking to the future to ensure we provide an excellent golf course and facilities to our members. We recognise the value of visiting players and societies and whilst much of the time members have full access to the course, our visitors and societies are made very welcome on weekdays throughout the year.
Our Par 70 parkland course features tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens, and is widely considered to be one of the finest in the county by amateurs and professionals alike. The course is playable throughout the year, with full tees and greens in operation at all times. The course holds up extremely well in virtually all weather conditions, and even the hardiest of golfers will get a game nearly every day of the year.
We have impressive practice facilities which include a 500 yard long game practice area, 200 yard practice fairway, short game area with covered bays, chipping green and 18 hole putting green, and just recently our brand new purpose built practice nets.
Richard Wheeler is our resident PGA professional who has a long standing association with the club over some 25 years. Richard also runs the highly successful Richard Wheeler Golfing Academy - please click here for more details.
Away from the course we have a beautiful modern clubhouse, with excellent facilities including the main restaurant, two bars, a function room and panoramic views over the golf course from the patio.
But don't just take our word for it! Come and see for yourself... you'll be sure to receive a very warm and friendly welcome.
