From the minute we arrived it was a pleasure to be there. The food, the hospitality and service in the club was first class as was the young pro we spoke to in the shop.

However, the highlight of the day was the very impressive presentation of your golf course.

We have never been disappointed at all when playing at Braintree but we all thought that yesterday’s condition eclipsed everything we had ever witnessed and that is saying something as we have always enjoyed the course presentation every time we have played it.

Your tees were immaculately presented, the fairways were very tidy. The course itself is so beautifully manicured everywhere and the greens are quite honestly the best greens we have played on this year.

Please say a massive thank you from us to the head green keeper and his staff!   The attention to detail really made a huge impression on us. 

We all look forward to coming back again.

We had a super day on Sunday. Everything went like clockwork.  Your staff could not have been more efficient and helpful.  The Afternoon Tea was simply delicious and the empty plates were testament to that.

The course was indeed in great condition and the players reported that the greens were very quick and true. The standard of golf was very high and I put that down to playing on a superb course.  The match went down to the last game, last hole, last putt - with Chelmsford taking the Trophy.

Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality it was very much appreciated.  I hope the Thornton Cup enjoy it as much next Sunday.

Following another successful Charity Golf Day hosted by you at Braintree please extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved at the club.

We had 88 golfers and additional evening guest’s, everyone was so complimentary about the whole event, nothing was a problem to the helpful bar and catering team.

We had two golf professionals and several single figure handicap golfers taking part as well as those who were not quite so capable, the point being that the praise for the course was coming from discerning golfers who can often be critical as we all know.

Please especially thank the green staff team as having started in torrential rain they appeared from nowhere on the first green to clear water and subsequently cleared the holes ahead of us and this was very much appreciated by all.

Every year we come back and see improvement on the course it could not have been presented or played any better.

We look forward to returning in 2024.

On behalf of the Trustees, staff and beneficiaries of the Wilderness Foundation UK, I would like to thank you and your team for your amazing efforts hosting our charity golf day last week. 

Your amazing course made sure everyone had a brilliant day of golf, even with the downpour half way through! Everything went so smoothly on the day and that was down to your organisational skills and being so accommodating when asked for help. We were able to raise over £8,500 on the day, and part of that was thanks to you and your team making it all such an enjoyable and professionally run day.

Your team including the two Pro’s that joined in the day’s activities were superb. Everyone commented on how good they were in managing the ‘Beat the Pro’ competition, so please pass on our thanks to both of them for taking part on the day. People also commented highly on the food so please thank your chef and catering staff for their hard work, especially when it took us ages to sit down to dinner!

Thank you once again for your brilliant support last week and I’m sure we will be in touch again for another charity golf day.

Thank you very much for hosting our final game in the District Rotary Summer Golf Competition with Rochford Rotary Club.

The hospitality in the Clubhouse was welcoming and the excellent food and drink was served with a smile!

We also appreciated the arrangements you made on our behalf for the game itself.

The course itself was in excellent condition and the Pro Shop very helpful. I would warmly recommend Braintree Golf Club to any golfer.

Just a note to say how much everyone - Rotarians and guests - enjoyed our golf afternoon last Thursday. As always the course was immaculate and provided a good test of golf for all and the dinner in the evening was very good , the chicken and leek pie was really tasty and the generous portion of apple crumble and custard was much appreciated !!

“Braintree Golf Club wasn’t on my list when I decided to get back into the competitive game of golf. I looked at a few clubs in my area but none felt quite right. My daughter Rosie plays at Chelmsford Golf Club where she has been a member for 2 years. We turned up at Braintree Golf Club one afternoon in February this year, and from the moment we got out the car we were greeted with hello’s and good afternoon’s from complete strangers. We entered the pro shop and the pros were very friendly and went out of their way to answer all our questions and gave us information about the club and practice facilities.

The office staff gave us all the information about what goes on at the club and the amount of junior competitions that go on. I decided to join that day and as I’m a member Rosie could join for free. Even though Braintree is her second club she absolutely loves it there, she has made new golfing friends both girls and boys. I have also made new golfing buddies which has made my introduction to the club so much easier -  as every golfer knows, becoming a new member of a club can be rather alienating. But I’ve found, and so has my daughter, that it is so friendly from young and old. The staff from the pro shop to the kitchen and bar staff and the management are so friendly and accommodating. I think we will be members here for years to come”.
